Goodbye, Monsters!

Lots of the 2011 Weka monsters are moving into Tui next term and we will miss them a lot. We have had so much fun together. I know they will be terrific learners next year and into the future. I will look forward to hearing all about their adventures.

Some of the children are staying in Weka next year which will be so great! I can't wait to see them after the holidays.

Everyone in Weka loves Joyce. She is going to live in Auckland. BOO HOO!

We do hope she has a fun time there. We will miss her lots.

Windmills

As part of our learning about the POWER of air and wind, we made windmills. It was a long process and we had to use a lot of equipment to create them. It was great fun running around the field trying them out. They were very bright and colourful!

What else would you do on a hot day?

On a really hot day, Weka students went outside and were squirted with the hose to keep them cool. It was great fun and we started a trend with several of the other classes joining in after they had seen us having such a good time. We couldn't stay out in the sun for more that a few seconds at a time because it was very strong, but we managed to get a bit wet and then went back in the shade. We dried out quickly because of the warm day. Great fun!
