People of Power

Our school celebrated some of the term's learning with a People of Power evening. Children studied someone who has been powerful either in the present or past and dressed up as that person. At the People of Power evening, visiting family were able to talk to all the children about their powerful person. Two of the Weka children dressed up, too. Mickey Mouse and the Tooth Fairy are both powerful figures in the lives of young children and it was great to see Weka class represented so well at this school event. Well done, ladies!

A-hum....a-hum...

We sang a neat song about a frog who went walking and met a mouse. They got married and lived in an apple tree.

We sang our song in assembly. We had created lovely frog and mouse masks. Everyone loved our singing - and no wonder! We were amazing!

PMP more pics...

We have all had such a great time with our PMP in Term 3. Our school is so lucky to have such a huge number of people that support this valuable programme - helping out with running our exciting stations, providing help making the equipment and seeking funding so we can buy special items. The children have loved it and are so grateful for the help so many have given. They have learned so much!

Writing in Weka...

In Weka, we always work hard with our writing. We have been creating a little newspaper this week with stories (recounts) from our recent holiday. Check out our hard work!

...and we're back!

It's been a funny old time not being able to get onto this account for such a long time! I have missed the opportunity to share Weka's learning with you all over the past couple of months. But thanks to my technically adept husband, we are now back on track!

Watch this space for updates that I have been saving. They might not be in chronological order, but you will be able to see pics of some of the neat things we have been doing in Weka class over the past few weeks.

To begin, here are some new boys that have joined our class team. We now have 16 wonderful learners in Weka. We are super lucky!
